Safety Belt | Use of safety belt | Precautions
It is most for every worker not to climb on structure or pole without safety belt and it is not better to take risks deliberately.
Safety belt consists of two parts; one body strap and other safety strap.
A complete safety belt makes after combination of body strap and safety strap.
There is a snap hook on one side of safety strap and the other side a buckle that is used to shorten or make the safety strap that helps a worker to work properly having appropriate distance with pole.
1. Whenever use the safety belt, check it fully whether it is weak or its any part is out of order.
2. Tie the body strap of safety belt just below the backbone and always tie it before climbing up the pole or structure.
3. After climbing up the required height on the pole, rounding of the safety strap around the pole put it with the body strap using hook.
4. When you have tied the safety strap by the pole, just check it out whether it can bear the load or not. The procedure is that hold fact the pole or structure and push back with force to find out whether it can bear load. But a person had letter do such test where safety belt is to be used other than pole or structure.
5. Use safety belt only for safety purpose; never use it to load things.
1. Tie up the safety strap of safety belt around the pole and with the body strap in such a way that there is proper distance between the worker and the pole; hence the task can be fulfilled properly.
2. While climbing up and stepping down from the pole, ensure that safety belt does not tangle up e.g., with pole product etc.
3. Pass the safety belt around pole or structure and if it is not possible them pass it around the cross arm. Never pass the safety belt around conductor, insulator and helping straps and fix it below 30cm the height of pole or structure where there is no conductor.
1. Keep the safety belt in such a way that does not get out of order due to sunlight, humidity, a sharp tool or heavy load.
2. Don't ever weaken the leather strap of safety belt by making more holes.
3. If repairing is needed, make it repaired as soon as possible and use better quality parts for repairing. After repairing, check it out and make sure that it does not effect its originality. Check all safety belts out every three mouths and see whether leather dries out or turn off. Situating is not open and bucket rivet is not loose.
